Griffon Softball Field

Griffon Softball Field

Griffon softball call the state-of-the art Spring Sports Complex home. The facility, which was completed in March 2011, was built at a cost of $7 million. The complex features great facilities as well as excellent lighting, sound and top-of-the line scoreboards.

Griffon Softball Field has seating capacity for 300 fans with plenty of standing areas for overflow crowds.  The playing surface features a dirt infield and natural grass outfield.  Both dugouts are professional quality and are lighted and heated for cold weather games.  The bullpens are located outside of play down the left field and right field lines.  Field dimensions are 200 feet down the lines and 220 feet to straight away center field.

From 1976 to the early 1990s, the Griffons called Walnut Park off campus home. In the early 90s, the Griffons moved on campus to the MWSU Softball Complex, where they played through the 2009 season. The complex which was located in front of Spratt Stadium is now the parking lot for the Griffon Indoor Sports Complex. During the construction of the Spring Sports Complex, the team played the 2010 season at Heritage Park Softball Complex on the banks of the Missouri River.
